JIGPC Privacy Policy

Jazan Integrated Gasification and Power Company (“JIGPC” or “us” or “we”) is a new and dynamic Joint Venture (JV), with well-respected, multinational, parent companies including Saudi Aramco, Air Products, Air Products Qudra and ACWA Power. JIGPC embraces a diverse, multicultural workforce of over 700 skilled, experienced employees with over 20 nationalities onboard. The JIGPC site is recognized as the world’s largest Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle (IGCC) complex employing gasification technology for the first time in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. What Personal Data is collected?

We collect and process the following Personal Data:

  • Technical and network activity information: Information about your device and your usage of our websites, including your IP address, device ID, hardware model and version, mobile network information, operating system and other online identifiers, type of browser;
  • Audio visual: photographs or video recording of you.
  • Basic Information:your name (including prefix or title), gender, age or date of birth;
  • Contact Information:Information you provide to us that allows us to contact you, e.g. your personal or business email, mailing address, mobile number, and profile on a professional social media platform;
  • Travel-related and other Identification Information: Including your national ID number, passport number, driving licence number, and travel preferences;
  • Professional Information and experience: Information related to your education, work experience, references, and referees;
  • Professional biography and/or other Information: Including your CV/resume, photograph, academic information and your interests;
  • National Identifiers:your national ID/passport, residency and work permit status, or other government identification number;
  • Financial Information:We will also collect your bank details if we reimburse you for expenses during the recruitment process/vendor onboarding; your bank details, including account name, account number and swift code;
  • Background Information:education and academic as well as professional qualifications.

If the legal basis for processing Personal Data is consent, you may refuse to provide us your Personal Data. However, please note that this may prevent us from being able to provide our services to you.

If you give us the Personal Data of another person, e.g. your spouse/partner or referees, we assume you have their permission to share their data with us.

We will not process Personal Data (including any of the information listed above) if the law of your country prohibits us to do so.

How do we collect your Personal Data? What is the purpose for collection?

Some of the Personal Data that we process is obtained directly from you using our official website, our career portal, email, official communication channels for the following purposes:

  • To contact us;
  • Visit the facility;
  • Raise access management and travel request;
  • Apply for a job;
  • Take part in meetings, interviews or recruitment exercises;
  • Registering to become a vendor;
  • Contacting us for partnership, supplier, or other business opportunities;
  • Business execution including entering into of agreements with customers, suppliers and managing relationships with such parties; and
  • Legal and/or regulatory compliance reasons.

We also obtain some Personal Data indirectly from the following sources:

From other sources:

Third parties, Parent Companies, Recruitment agencies through official communication channels for recruitment; and

Your colleagues and/or managers when they give us your reference for employment.

From public sources:

We collect your Personal Data from public sources, if allowed by law. We may use such a source to verify your licenses, or to complete any checks we need to do in order to meet relevant laws.

How do we use your Personal Data?

We use Personal Data collected, directly or indirectly, as follows: 

We will only use your Personal Data for the purposes we have described below in this Privacy Notice, or for purposes which are reasonably compatible to the ones described. We cannot, and will not, use it for other purposes without your permission, unless we have a legal right or obligation to do so.

To consider your application.

We will use your Personal Data:

  • To reply to your application. If someone else referred you to us or we obtained your information from other sources, we will use your Personal Data to contact you and let you know about our recruitment process;
  • To create a profile of you;
  • To assess how suitable your profile is for the job you are applying for;
  • To conduct interviews and exercises during the recruitment process.

To include you in JIGPC’s talent pool.

We will use your Personal Data to:

  • Consider you for opportunities we have now, or future ones, in any of the JIGPC companies and affiliates. This means we will share your information with other JIGPC entities; and
  • To let you know about opportunities or to ask you to update your profile.

To manage our relationship with you.

We will use your Personal Data to:

  • Respond to your queries and provide you with information when you request;
  • Reimburse you for expenses or pay you for services you provide.

To manage and improve our recruitment processes as well as our business operations related to the recruitment process.

We will use your Personal Data to:

  • Manage our network and information systems security;
  • Keep records related to our hiring processes;

To achieve other purposes.

We will use your Personal Data:

  • To follow applicable laws and regulations;
  • To respond to requests from competent authorities;
  • To protect JIGPC, your vital interests, or those of another person;
  • To provide work related accommodations or health and insurance benefits to you and to your dependents;
  • To evaluate JIGPC's progress in achieving its diversity hiring goals to ensure equal opportunity monitoring and reporting.
  • To respond to and handle your queries or requests;

How do we disclose your Personal Data?

We share your Personal Data on a need-to-know basis, and to the extent necessary to follow laws and regulations, and to manage and run the certain activities.

We share your Personal Data only with teams in our companies and affiliates who need to see it to do their jobs.

In some cases, our recruitment and pre-employment screening activities are done for us by specialised service providers. We will share your Personal Data with their teams who need to see it as part of their job.

We will also share your Personal Data with other specialised service providers who work with us, for example:

  • Event and travel agencies, if you opt for the facility;
  • Local or foreign regulators, courts, governments and law enforcement authorities;
  • Technology suppliers who work with us to develop and improve our digital forums and apps; and
  • Professional advisors, such as auditors, accountants and lawyers.

Any Personal Data shared with authorised third parties or service providers who assist in the delivery of our services is under strict contractual obligations that ensure protection of the data. 

We will also share your Personal Data with local or foreign regulators, or government and law enforcement authorities if we need to do so by law. These may be in or outside your country of residence.

In the event of any inconsistency or conflict between the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and any foreign jurisdiction, the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia shall take precedence and prevail. Compliance with Saudi Arabian law shall supersede and override any conflicting provisions of foreign law.

Legal Basis for Collecting and Processing Your Personal Data

In accordance with the Personal Data Protection Law, the legal basis on which we rely in processing such data is:

  • Your explicit consent. You can withdraw your consent at any time without affecting processing operations carried out based on other legal bases. To this end, you can contact Data Privacy team at privacy@jigpc.com 
  • In compliance with a statutory obligation (i.e. the Personal Data Protection Law, the Labour Law, rules issued by Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, the Ministry of Commerce as well as the Communications, Space & Technology Commission, among other laws and regulations and other government entities)
  • Maintaining vital interests in situations mentioned below (applicable if Data subject is in JIGPC premises):

  1. Emergency Medical Situations: If an Data subject at JIGPC suffers a medical emergency or injury on-site, their Personal Data (such as medical history or emergency contact details) may be processed to ensure their health and safety;
  2. Evacuation in Dangerous Situations: In the event of a fire, explosion, or other life-threatening incident, Personal Data (such as location, identity, and health conditions) might be processed to prioritize rescue efforts;
  3. On-site Security: If there is an imminent security threat (such as a terror threat or violent intrusion), Personal Data like CCTV footage or access logs may be processed to protect individuals’ lives;
  4. Exposure to Hazardous Materials: In the case of accidental exposure to toxic or dangerous substances, personal health data might be processed to ensure that exposed individuals receive proper medical treatment.

  • Achieving legitimate interests or objectives e.g. 

  1. Conduct our central management activities;
  2. Record-keeping regulatory monitoring and reporting obligations, including those related to adverse events, product complaints and product safety; 
  3. Complying with Saudi Labour Law and transparency obligations; and
  4. Conducting audits and internal investigations and complying with internal policies.

How do we store your Personal Data?

Your Personal Data is stored securely either at the headquarters/or at a cloud computing service provider in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and European Union. We also retain your Personal Data only as long as necessary to fulfil its purposes and to meet any legal requirements, after which we will securely dispose of such data in a manner that prevents access or retrieval, using degaussing, physical destruction, etc. in accordance with organisational policies and applicable law. 

How Do We Protect Your Personal Data?

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures in relation to the information and Personal Data that is Processed by us. We take reasonable measures to protect all Personal Data from unauthorised Processing or accidental disclosure, acquisition, sharing, alteration, misuse, destruction or loss or unauthorised access and modification that compromises the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of such data. 

While we endeavour to always protect our systems, platforms, operations and information against unauthorized access, use, modification, and disclosure, due to the inherent nature of the Internet, we cannot guarantee that any information, during transmission or while stored on our systems, will be safe and secure from intrusion by others.

You too have an important role in protecting your Personal Data. You should not share your user identity, password or other authentication data provided to you with anyone. If you have any reason to believe that your user identity or password has been compromised, please contact us immediately by using the contact details given above.

Your Rights Regarding Processing of Your Personal Data

Under Personal Data Protection Law, you have the following rights, which primarily depend on the purpose of Personal Data collection and processing:

  • Right to Be Informed:You are entitled to be informed how we collect your Personal Data, legal basis for collection and processing, how such data is processed, stored, destroyed, and to whom it will be disclosed. You can access all details through this Privacy Policy or contact us using the below mentioned information.
  • Right of Access to Your Personal Data: You are entitled to request access to your Personal Data by emailing us for the same at privacy@jigpc.com. However, we may restrict the access to Personal Data if such a restriction is required for security purposes, required by another law, or required to fulfil judicial requirements. 
  • Right to Request Access to Your Personal Data: You are entitled to request access to your Personal Data held by us in a readable and clear format if technically feasible by emailing us for the same at privacy@jigpc.com.
  • Right to Request Correction of Your Personal Data: You are entitled to request correction of your Personal Data that you believe is inaccurate, incorrect or incomplete, by emailing us for the same at privacy@jigpc.com. Such data will be reviewed and updated within 30 days from date of request raised. In addition, you will be notified through by emailing us for the same at privacy@jigpc.com.
  • Right to Request Destruction of Your Personal Data: You are entitled to request destruction of your Personal Data in certain circumstances (e.g. If you provided your Personal Data to JIGPC for a service that has now been completed, you may request the deletion of that data. If you initially agreed to the use of your data for certain purposes but later changed your mind, you can request that your data be destroyed). 
  • The Right to submit any complaint related to applying the provisions of the Law to the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority.
  • The Right to claim compensation for material or moral damage if you are harmed as a result of any violation stipulated in the Personal Data Protection Law and its Implementing Regulations.

In case of partial or complete incapacity of the Data Subject, a valid legal guardian may exercise the rights on behalf of the Data Subject. JIGPC will collect necessary documents to verify the validity of the guardianship over the Data Subject. 

Unless otherwise stipulated by the law, you will not be required to pay any fees in return for exercising this right. In case of submitting a request for exercising this right, you will receive a response within 30 days as of the request receiving date.

Complaint or Objection Filing Method

If you have any concerns, or if we do not comply with the Personal Data Protection Law, you can file a complaint to Data Privacy team by emailing us for the same at privacy@jigpc.com. If you are not satisfied with how we process your complaint, or if we fail to respond within 30 days, you can file a complaint to the Competent Authority, Saudi Data & AI Authority (www.sdaia.gov.sa)
